Our History

Our four Directors have cooperated over many years on numerous projects involving people with disability. In early 2015, our Directors agreed that, besides a need for further research into disability in South Africa, there was also a need to empower people with disability through Peer Support programmes. This shared vision led our Directors to formalize their relationship and to address various issues in the disability sector. They subsequently formed a Non-Profit Company in June 2017 (registered in terms of Section 14 of the Companies Act, 2008).
AFRIQUE REHABILITATION AND RESEARCH CONSULTANTS (ARRC) NPC was registered as a Non-Profit Company
(Reg No 2015/184619/08) in 2015.
ARRCs main areas of expertise are empowerment, rehabilitation policy and practices for people with disability, with particular emphasis on Disability Rights, Peer Support and Sexual Reproductive Health (including HIV/ AIDS/STIs/TB). ARRC also specialises in research contributing to an improved quality of life for people with disability.
